Sammy Root is an English television personality and digital creator best known for winning Love Island UK Series 10 with Jess Harding in 2023. Born on 10 May 2001, he worked as a project manager before entering the villa and quickly becoming one of the season’s most recognisable contestants. His career later expanded through The Only Way Is Essex and Love Island: All Stars, while his relationships with Jess Harding and Elma Pazar kept him in the public eye.
Interest in Sammy Root now covers much more than his original Love Island win. Viewers regularly search for his age, relationship with Elma, ethnicity, All Stars appearance, TOWIE career, history with Jess Harding, Love Island season and net worth. This profile covers those main topics while separating confirmed information from speculation.
Sammy Root Age
Sammy Root was born on 10 May 2001 and is 25 years old as of November 2026.
He was 22 when he first appeared on Love Island Series 10 in 2023. At that point, he was working as a project manager and had not yet established himself as a television personality.
By the time he returned for Love Island: All Stars in 2025, he had already experienced major changes in both his career and personal life.
His age remains one of the most commonly searched facts about him because viewers have watched his public profile develop quickly over a relatively short period.
From winning Love Island in his early twenties to appearing on TOWIE and expanding into digital content, Root has built much of his media career while still relatively young.
Sammy Root Elma
Sammy Root and Elma Pazar developed a romantic relationship during Love Island: All Stars in 2025.
Pazar was already familiar to British reality TV audiences through her own appearances on Love Island and TOWIE, which made their connection particularly interesting to viewers.
The pair became one of the notable couples of the series and continued their relationship after leaving the villa.
However, their romance later ended.
Their breakup attracted attention because both remained connected to the reality television world, and their relationship had been followed by viewers from the villa through to life after the show.
Searches for “Sammy Root Elma” remain popular because many fans want to know whether they are still together.
The answer is no. Their relationship became an important chapter in Root’s All Stars story but did not become a long-term partnership.
Sammy Root Ethnicity
Sammy Root’s ethnicity is a commonly searched topic, but detailed and authoritative information about his ancestry remains limited.
Some secondary biography websites describe him as having Nigerian and English heritage. However, this has not been documented as extensively through first-hand interviews or official biographies as other details such as his date of birth and television career.
It is therefore better to treat those descriptions cautiously.
What can be stated with more confidence is that Root is British and was born in England.
Nationality and ethnicity are not the same thing. Nationality relates to legal or national identity, while ethnicity can refer to ancestry, culture and family heritage.
Where a public figure has not clearly discussed their background in detail, avoiding overconfident claims is the most accurate approach.
Sammy Root All Stars
Sammy Root returned to the Love Island franchise in 2025 for Love Island: All Stars.
His second appearance was very different from his first. In 2023, he entered the villa as a relatively unknown project manager. By 2025, he was already a former winner and experienced reality television personality.
Root returned as a single contestant and eventually developed a relationship with Elma Pazar.
His All Stars appearance gave viewers the opportunity to compare how he had changed since his original season.
He had previously spoken about valuing personality more strongly and suggested that his approach to dating had matured.
Root and Pazar reached the final together and became one of the more discussed couples from the series.
Although he did not repeat his original victory, the All Stars appearance extended his association with the franchise and introduced a new chapter in his public relationship history.
Sammy Root TOWIE
After winning Love Island, Sammy Root joined The Only Way Is Essex, commonly known as TOWIE.
The move helped him establish a broader reality television career beyond the dating programme that first made him famous.
TOWIE focuses on friendships, relationships and personal lives, offering cast members a different type of television exposure compared with Love Island.
Root’s involvement also connected him more closely with other established reality personalities, including Elma Pazar.
His appearances on the programme helped shift his public image from former Love Island winner to a wider British reality TV personality.
TOWIE also became significant because parts of his relationship and later breakup with Elma were linked to that reality television environment.
Root eventually left the programme, but his time on TOWIE remains an important part of his career development.
Sammy Root and Jess
Sammy Root and Jess Harding became one of the defining couples of Love Island Series 10.
Their relationship began after Root entered the villa as a bombshell. Although they developed a strong connection, their journey was rarely straightforward.
Root explored other romantic possibilities during the series, while Harding often questioned whether he was fully committed.
Despite repeated setbacks, the pair eventually became boyfriend and girlfriend and progressed to the final.
They were crowned the winners of the series on 31 July 2023.
However, their relationship did not last long after leaving the villa.
Their breakup became public a few months after the final, and both later moved on separately.
Even after their separation, the pair remain closely linked in Love Island history because their victory was one of the most important moments in both of their television careers.
Sammy Root Love Island Season
Sammy Root originally appeared on Love Island UK Series 10 in 2023.
He entered on Day 4 as a bombshell and quickly became one of the most important contestants of the season.
His connection with Jess Harding developed into the central storyline of his villa journey.
Although their relationship experienced repeated challenges, they eventually reached the final and won the public vote.
Root later returned to the franchise for Love Island: All Stars in 2025.
This means his first appearance was in Series 10, while his second came through the separate All Stars format.
That distinction is useful because viewers often search for which season he was originally part of.
His Series 10 victory remains the defining achievement of his reality television career and the main reason he first became widely known.

Sammy Root’s exact net worth has not been publicly verified.

His potential income sources include:

The safest and most accurate conclusion is that Root has developed multiple commercial opportunities since becoming famous, but any precise net worth figure should be treated as speculative unless supported by reliable financial evidence.
What Did Sammy Root Do Before Love Island?
Before becoming a television personality, Root worked as a project manager.
His old profession was highlighted when he entered Love Island, partly because he was not already known within the entertainment industry.
That changed dramatically after his appearance.
Winning the programme gave him a national audience and opened the door to work in reality television, social media and commercial partnerships.
His career has since moved significantly away from his original professional background.
Today, he is better known as a television personality and digital creator than as a project manager.
This transition is an important part of his story because it shows how quickly reality television changed his career direction.

Cars have become particularly visible in his online content.

His previous reality television appearances still form a major part of his public identity, but they are no longer the only reason audiences follow him.
